Ivan Rodriguez- Assistant Superintendent
Ivan Rodriguez is a hardworking carpenter pushing his career to the next level as an assistant superintendent. Ivan was born and raised in Laredo, TX where his love for carpentry goes all the way back to about the age of 9, when he began helping his dad build things from old lumber scraps and small furniture pieces. He was often at play in his dad's workshop and garage as a child. Rather than becoming a general laborer, he decided that his love for the trade was what he would pursue. He found that the demands and challenges of framing a building suited his mind and physique. Ivan loves the atmosphere of the jobsite, and the process of making buildings as well as being introduced to new challenges and new opportunities. Hard work doesn't bother him! When he is not on the job, he likes to spend time with his wife and kids, and play fetch with their Great Pyrenees!
Amanda Reill- Project Engineer
Amanda fell into the construction industry somewhat accidentally, and since beginning her career in project administration, has truly enjoyed the way the industry touches on so many areas of daily life. She thrives on the diversity of smaller & medium-sized projects and the opportunity to serve diverse groups of people and develop strong relationships with new teams. Amanda serves as a liaison between Collaborative, design teams, subcontractors, and all other parties necessary to make a project successful. Proactive communication is one of her highest values, and she strives to kindle that strength within the company, seeking to embody its “collaborative” nature!
Amanda wears many hats outside the office, including serving as a pastor in her local church congregation and a mother to two small children. She enjoys investing in the rich relationships she has been blessed with in this life, learning new things, and exploring the outdoors with her family. In the summertime, this includes spending many weekends in Maupin with her family’s whitewater rafting company!
Bethany Patton- Project Engineer
Bethany Patton brings a love of mathematics, physics, and creative problem-solving to the Collaborative team. While pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bethany became captivated by the technical and creative aspects of the construction industry. Since then, she has spent the last 2+ years working in commercial construction with a focus on design-built alongside her classes. Bethany has obtained an Associates of Science and is currently a senior in the bachelor’s program at PSU.
Though Bethany was born in Seattle, she moved to Southern California when she was just a week old. However, she has spent the last 20 years back in Washington state where she spends her time outside of work and class raising her two children.
Emily Lozier- Project Support Specialist
Emily Lozier worked as an office administrator and a technical writer before entering the construction industry. Since joining the Collaborative team, she has found fulfillment in contributing to a field that has a tangible impact on the communities around her. Driven by a desire to “make everyone’s day easier”, Emily strives to maintain open communication every day so she may identify and meet the dynamic needs of a project as they develop. She also enjoys working behind-the-scenes to ensure everyone involved has what they need to succeed.
After hours, Emily spends her spare time long-distance running, taking her cat out for walks, and exploring the beautiful trails that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Margaret McPherson- Accounts Payable
Margaret McPhersons personal roots run deep in the area. While she has lived in many parts of the country, she opted to return to the Pacific Northwest over 40 years ago and has resided in Clark County for nearly 24 years. She is a fifth generation Oregonian with the original family donation land claim located over by the Portland International Airport. She and her husband of over 35 years have raised 2 sons who have both grown into fine men.
Margaret McPherson joined us at the beginning of 2020 and brought over eight years’ worth of experience in construction project client billing and job costing to the company. She enjoys digging into details and works hard to cover all the bases and wants to know the “whys” as much as the “hows” of the work that she performs. At the present time, she supports the business side of the company with a focus on subcontractor accounting but has expressed a desire to expand her contributions within CCS. Prior work activities have including working in real estate both on the Oregon and Washington sides of the Portland metropolitan area and working for local governmental agencies.
Katie Akerill- Accounts Payable
Katie Akerill comes to us with over 13 years of administrative experience and just around 6 years of AP/AR experience. Her attention to detail and proven follow through make her a great asset to the Collaborative team! In addition to her years of office work, she has also worked in a hardware store and if you can believe it, out in the shop at a high end cabinet manufacturing company here in Washington state. With that being said, I guess you could say she's done a little bit of it all!
Katie grew up in La Center and has always stuck around the area since venturing out on her own as a young adult. In her spare time, she likes to spend as much time with her family as she can; her 8 year old son keeps her on her toes daily. She is an avid gym goer and like Emily, loves to get out in the wilderness and explore through hiking.
Cooper - Official "Office Greeter"
We try to remember to have a fun side here in the office and Cooper is just the guy to help with this. Cooper is a rescued stray that we adoped from the Clackamas dog shelter. At just two years old, he is working hard on his social skills as a greeter and notifying us when the mail or Fed-Ex arrives. He keeps a close eye on the time clock too and reminds everyone to take a break now and then. As soon as work time is over he is ready to head to the park and play fetch!
